William “Bill” Francis Donnellan, 81, of Winchester, Massachusetts passed away March 21, 2016, after a long battle with Lymphoma. Born on January 23, 1935 in Winchester, Massachusetts, he was the only child of Arthur Vincent and Rhea Margaret (Crandall) Donnellan. He is survived by his second wife Diana Delores (Lyko) with whom he would have celebrated 45 years of marriage in May. He was predeceased by his first wife Mary Elizabeth (Burns) to whom he was married for twelve years. Bill is survived by his nine children, Michael and his wife Christine of Wyoming, Rhode Island, Barbara (Snow) and her husband David of Chelmsford, Joanne (Blaine) of Stoneham, Nancy (McGinty) and her husband Thomas of Westford, Brian and his wife Kathleen of Beverly, John and his wife Nancy of Reading, David and his wife Kristina of Centerville, William Jr. and his wife Lori of Hingham and Mark of Woburn. Bill has seventeen loving grandchildren: Joshua, Colin, Michael, Alexander, Molly, Sarah, Brianna, Johnny, Rachel, Maxwell, Emma, Lexi, Hannah, Ella, Olivia, Eden, and Eva. After graduating from Tufts College in 1957, Bill worked for more than 30 years as an electrical engineer for Westinghouse. Bill raised his large family in Winchester, residing there for almost 60 years. When his children were growing up, Bill coached youth soccer. He was actively involved in his parish, St. Mary’s, where over the years he sang in the choir, was a Eucharistic Minister and most recently developed and maintained the parish website. In his retirement Bill delivered Meals on Wheels. He also volunteered in Florida tutoring underprivileged children in math. Recently, he and Diana spilt their time between Massachusetts and their home in Florida so that they could pursue their love and passion for golf. As an avid golfer, Bill was always trying to improve his game. Calling hours will be on Monday, March 28 from 4pm-8pm at St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., in Winchester. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 29 at 10AM at St. Mary’s Church. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
