Obituary

WOLFEBORO - Beatrice Ann Cleveland, 86, of 39 Clipper Drive, died Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Wolfeboro Bay Center in Wolfeboro.
She was born on August 15, 1929 in Bristol, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Charles H. and Anna J. (Edman) Jewett. She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary and the Women's Auxiliary VFW, both in Laconia and also the Laconia Rod & Gun Auxiliary. Beatrice enjoyed flower gardening, baking, crocheting and playing cards and bingo with friends. She loved everyone and always made people feel at home. Beatrice was never judgmental and treated everyone the same . Beatrice not only raised her own children but also had foster children and helped any friends of her kids who needed a place to stay. Being a fantastic cook, no one ever went away hungry in her presence. Her peanut butter cookies are still bragged about to this day.
She was passionate about helping less fortunate kids, by volunteering at the children's Christmas parties at the American Legion and crocheting doll clothes for dolls she would purchase and give as gifts to all the girls. She made everyone laugh and feel happy and fortunate to have known her.
She is survived by her three sons; Lee E. Cleveland of Cumming, GA, Charles H. Cleveland of Gilmanton I.W. and Carl E. Cleveland Jr. of Belmont, one daughter, Lou Ann Grant of Wolfeboro, one step son, William W. Cleveland of Laconia, one step daughter, Delia A.
