Anita M. Lamoureux, 76, of Blackstone died Tuesday March 15, 2016 at Medway Country Manor in Medway. She was the former wife and friend of the late Bertrand A. “Bert” Lamoureux.
Born and raised in Woonsocket she was a daughter of Rita (Lefebvre) Blackburn of North Smithfield. She resided through the years in Millville, Bellingham and Blackstone.
Anita worked at Tupperware for a number of years and was later employed by Tech Industries for over 25 years before retiring.
Anita was active with the Blackstone Senior Center and the St. Theresa’s Parish senior group. She was a member of Parents without Partners. She also was talented at crocheting and quilting donating many of her creations to Women & Infants Hospital.
Anita will be remembered as a loving mother and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her mother she is survived by a son Thomas Lamoureux and his wife, Tina, of Bellingham, two daughters Viviane Essoi of Woonsocket and Ann Marie Costello and her husband, Robert, of Blackstone. She was the mother of the late Jeanne Sevigny. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00 am the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Slatersville. Visiting hours are Saturday morning from 9-11 am prior to services. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association 10 Speen St. Framingham, MA. 01701.
