Mathew R. Charpentier 26, of Blackstone died peacefully, Saturday March 19, 2016, after a long battle with leukemia. Born August 4, 1989, he was the beloved son of Gerard and Ann (Lepine) Charpentier. Mathew graduated from Blackstone Millville Regional High School in 2007, and was a member of the National Honor Society. He attended New England Institute of Technology and received an Associate of Science Degree in Game Development and Simulation Programing Technology in December 2009. He then attended Becker College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interactive Media Design. He was a member of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society.
Mathew was a communicant of St. Theresa’s Church in Blackstone, where he helped with religious education.
Besides his parents, he leaves his paternal grandfather Lionel Charpentier of Woonsocket, and maternal grandmother Florence Gelinas of Woonsocket, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
