Obituary


William J. “Bill” Arsenault, 83, of Salem, passed away with his family by his side, at Care One at Essex Park in Beverly on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, following a long illness. He was the husband of Janet M. (Sawyer) Arsenault.

Born and raised in Salem he was the son of the late Theodore J. and Lydia M. (Bourque) Arsenault. A Veteran of the Korean Conflict, Bill served overseas with the U.S. Navy. Following his tour of duty, he returned to Salem and worked as a machinist for Hood Foam of Marblehead. When the company relocated out of state, he began working as a carpenter for several construction companies until his retirement. Proud of his service, Bill was a member of the Witch City VFW Post 1524 of Salem.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert K. Arsenault and his wife Cheryl of Eliot, ME, Marc E. Arsenault of Salem, his daughter, Donna M. Corneau and her husband Vinnie of Salem, twelve grandchildren, Kendra, Robert, Garrett, Tamara, Tabatha, Tianna, Tayla, Jessica, Cheryl, Kathleen, Christian and Michelle.
He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, William J. “Skip” Arsenault, Jr., his brother, Robert T. Arsenault and sister Corrine O’Neil.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service on Monday, March 21, 2016 in the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem at 11:00 A.M. Visiting hours at the funeral home are on Sunday, 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, Alzheimer’s Assoc.
