Gerard A. Dube, age 86 of Dracut passed away on March 17, 2016 at his late residence surrounded by his loving family. Gerard was born in Lawrence on October 6, 1929 to the late Ludger and Clairina (Lafond) Dube. Mr. Dube was a former communicant of St. Patrick’s Church of S. Lawrence. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 67 of Lawrence. Gerard was a graduate of Lawrence High School. Following his high school graduation, Gerard enlisted with the United States Navy serving on both the U.S.S. Neobrara and the U.S.S. Chewaucan. He retired from Raytheon after 25 years. Mr. Dube enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards and spending time with his family whom he adored.
Gerard was the beloved husband of the late Doris (Vaillancourt) Dube with whom he shared 30 years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Carole Marshall, Beverly Ouellette and her husband Bryan, Cynthia Najem and her husband Kenneth, William E. Chasse and his wife Paula, Judith Conway and her husband Thomas, the late Michael Chasse, and the late Richard Chasse. Mr. Dube was the loving grandfather of 15 and the cherished great grandfather of 16. He was the dear brother of Helene Desfosses and Armand Dube. Gerard is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 11 siblings.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Monday, March 21, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Church of Lawrence. Interment to follow at a later date at Immaculate Conception Cemetery of Lawrence.
