William R. “Bill” Wardwell, 77, of Londonderry, NH passed away surrounded by his loving family, Friday March 18, 2016 at the Community Hospice House of Merrimack..
He was born April 5, 1938 in Buffalo, NY and was a son of the late Thadeus and Xenia (Dye) Wardwell. He was raised and educated in Buffalo and received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Buffalo. Bill has been a resident of Londonderry since 1985.
Mr. Wardwell had been an employee of Lucent (AT&T) for 33 years prior to his retirement, as a Human Resources Manager. He was an avid sports enthusiast and cherished time spent with his family.
He is survived by four children, Darren Wardwell and wife Kathie Bourret, Sharon Laplume and husband Ron, Laurie Sweeney and husband Bruce, and Chip Wardwell and wife Jackie, six grandchildren, Rachael, Kyle, Jylian, Chelsea, Madi and Jake, three great grandchildren, Jackson, Katie and Leonid and his sister and husband Cynthia and John Wagner. Bill was predeceased by his beloved and greatly missed wife of 55 years, Lillian M. Wardwell in February of 2016.
Following cremation, memorial calling hours were held on Friday, March 25, 2016 from 4 to 6 pm. in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
