Walker, Agnes F. (Griffiths) 92, of Milton, formerly of Dedham, died peacefully on Saint Patrick’s Day-March 17, 2016 at The Stanley R. Tippett Hospice Home in Needham. She was the wife of the late William L. Walker Jr. (LU550).
Born in Boston on October 24, 1923 the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Daley) Griffiths, she was a graduate of the Jeremiah E. Burke High School. Agnes was a homemaker devoted to her husband and seven children. She enjoyed her summer home in Wareham, as an active member in the White Island Shores Community Association.
A resident of Milton for the past 5 years, she lived in Dedham for 60 years and worked as an assistant librarian at the High School.
She was the mother of three daughters, Donna Golden of Framingham, Lois DeCoste of Attleboro, Cheryl Woodward and her husband Steve of Middleboro, and four sons William L. Walker (LU550) and his wife Heidi of Mansfield and Norfolk, Robert P. Walker (LU550) of Hanover and his wife Jeanne, the late Paul F. Walker (LU550) his wife Suzanne of Foxboro, and Richard A. Walker (LU550) and his wife Judith of Norfolk. Agnes was the loving “Nana” of fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St. Dedham on Wednesday March 23, at 8 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary Church, Dedham at 9am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4-8pm. Interment in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham. In lieu of flowers donate to Stanley J.
