Marshfield – Meredith A. “Merry” (Webster) Wagner, of Marshfield, formerly of S. Weymouth, Whitman and North Pembroke, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, March 16, at the age of 75. She was the beloved wife of Robert F. Wagner, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage.
She was born in South Weymouth and was the daughter of the late Edward C. and Alice C. (Southworth) Webster. She graduated from Whitman High School in 1958 and attended Fisher Junior College in Boston. She was employed at Almy’s Department Store in Hanover for over 17 years and shared an antique business, “Salt Marsh Antiques”, with her husband for many years. She enjoyed traveling all around New England while antiquing, spending summers on Coffee Pond in Maine and spending time with her family.
Merry’s life revolved around her loving family and in addition to her husband Robert she is survived by her daughter Kimberly Wagner-Smith and her husband David of Pembroke and her daughter Lisa Wagner of Kingston, and her much adored grandson David Smith, Jr. She was the sister of Carl E. Webster and his wife Sue of Sanibel, FL and sister-in-law of Elizabeth (Wagner) Braman and her late husband Frank of Casco, ME, and the late Herbert E. Wagner. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday March 24, from 4-7 PM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. A brief service will be held immediately following at 7 PM. Burial will be private at a later date.
