Obituary

Eileen Frances (Shea) Glora, age 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. Born in South Boston, she grew up in Dorchester and had lived in Mattapan for a number of years prior to her move to Quincy 35 years ago. Mrs. Glora was a member of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps during WW II and a graduate of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital School of Nursing, class of ’47. She retired from her position as a School Nurse for the Boston School Dept. and was a former Nurse of Boston City Hospital Emergency Room. The beloved wife of the late Angus J. Glora and daughter of the late John E. & Mary (McCann) Shea, she is survived by her devoted children; Paul & his wife Ann of Hyde Park, Edward Glora & his wife Sally (Degan) of South Boston and Mary Spaulding & her husband Dennis of Weymouth. She was the cherished Nana of BM3 Brian Glora, USCG & L/Cpl Matthew Glora, USMC and Kyle & Kiera Spaulding. The dear sister of Claire Higgins of Ashland and the late John, Marguerite, Roger, Marie & Kathleen, Mrs. Glora is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agatha Church, Milton, Monday at 11 am. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Sunday 4 to 8 PM.
