Judith (Flynn) Holt, beloved wife of the late Russell D. Holt, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, peacefully at home surrounded by her children.
Judy was born on July 3, 1940 to the late Edward C. and Beatrice M. Flynn. She resided in Noank during her childhood and moved to Mystic upon marrying Russ on March 24, 1957. Russ and Judy moved to Pawcatuck in 1964 where they remained throughout their marriage.
In 1968 Judy became the first CT female farrier. Judy and Russ owned and operated J&R Holt Horseshoeing for over 10 years. Judy then went into Real Estate, working for various agencies in southeastern CT for many years. She retired from Switz Real Estate in 2013.
Judy is survived by her four children, Dianne (Doug) Cahoon, Debbie (Dean) Riley, Randy (Jenna) Holt and Jeff Holt. She was very proud of her four grandchildren, DJ Cahoon, Mason Holt, Ryan and Charley Holt.
In addition to her husband and parents, Judy was predeceased by her brother Ed Flynn and her stepfather Gordon Wheeler.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Jason Haldas and his team from L&M Cancer Center in Waterford and the Center for Hospice Care of Waterford.
Judy has requested no services. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
