CHICOPEE – Pauline (Doiron) Leblond, 79, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Saint Gervais de Bellechasse, Province of Quebec, Canada on November 12, 1936, a beloved daughter of the late Hector and Valia (Godbout) Doiron. She was raised and lived in Saint Gervais. Following her marriage in 1960, Pauline and her husband, Gerard, settled in the North End section of Springfield with many of the French Canadians. In 1979, they purchased their home in the Willimansett section of Chicopee. While in Springfield, she was a communicant of the former Saint Thomas Aquinas Church. She was currently a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. During her leisure time, Pauline enjoyed knitting and cultivating her beautiful flower garden at her home. Most of all, she was a wonderful homemaker to her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Gerard R. “Gerry” Leblond, who was Called Home on August 17, 2011. They were married on August 11, 1960 in Saint Gervais de Bellechasse, P.Q., Canada and were blessed with over 51 years of happiness together. She leaves her two loving daughters, Nicole Guillemette and her husband, Robert, of Durham, CT and Joanne N. Leblond of Chicopee with whom she lived; her three cherished grandchildren, Marc Guillemette and his wife, Alycia, of Houston, TX, Christina Guillemette and her fiancé, Terrance Mitchell, of Marlborough and David Guillemette and his partner, Jennifer Walworth, of Lexington, SC; her cherished great-grandson, Joseph Robert “Joey” Guillemette; her five loving brothers, Renald Doiron and his wife, Agathe, of Canada, Jean-Yves Doiron and his wife, Diane, of Southwick, and Alcide Doiron, Denis Doiron and his wife, Lise, and Gilles Doiron and his partner, Micheline, all of Canada; her loving sister, Ghislaine Doiron and her partner, Leo, of Canada; her two loving sisters-in-law, Germaine (Leblond) Doiron and Monique (Goupil) Doiron, both of Canada; and her many dear nephews, nieces and members of the Leblond family. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her two loving brothers, Jean-Paul Doiron and Conrad Doiron; her loving sister, Georgette Labrie; her loving sister-in-law, Gaetane (Dion) Doiron; and her loving brother-in-law, Lucien Labrie. Her funeral will be held on Monday morning, March 21, 2016 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon, March 20, 2016 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The main entrance and parking lot are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
