Frances (Litsas) Karcasinas, 87, of Worcester, died Tuesday, March 15th in UMass Memorial Hospital. Her husband of 50 years, Edward N. Karcasinas died in 1989. She is survived by three sons, Nicholas E., James E. and Edward N. Karcasinas, Jr. and his wife, Julieanne; her daughter, Madeline Karcasinas with whom she lived; two grandsons, and a granddaughter.
She was born in Manchester, NH and had lived in Worcester for many years, spending her early years on Lincoln Street. Upon marrying Ed, they moved into a three-decker on Wyman Street where Eddie owned and operated the Wyman Spa and Double K Restaurant. Upon the the arrival of their second child they moved to their home on Blue Bell Road where they continued to raise their family. It was here, Fran was most happy enjoying the company of her long time neighbors, nieces, and her late sisters-in-law, Elsie, Clara and Helen. Our family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Elder Services of Worcester, especially Mary and Denise for the outstanding care and compassion they provided to our mother.
The children and grandchildren wish the friends of our mother to remember her tender kindness. We rejoice in the beauty and majesty of her passing as she wakes to a higher and deeper truth.
Funeral services will be private. O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is assisting the family with arrangements.
