Butch Ramsey
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, March 15, 2016, Mr. LeRoy S. “Butch” Ramsey, III, 64, husband of 42 years to Mrs. Judy Ramsey.
Mr. Ramsey was a native of Wilson, NC but lived in Augusta for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Augusta since 1989 then of Curtis Baptist Church since 2009. Mr. Ramsey served and retired from the United States Army after 20 years. He retired after 18 years as the Warehouse Manager for Club Car. Mr. Ramsey served on the Board of Directors of Pershing Rifles National Association Alumni Chapter at North Carolina State University.
Family members in addition to his wife include son: Lee S. Ramsey of Augusta; daughter: Laura R. Thieben (Jake) of Ankeny, IA; parents: Roy and Pat Ramsey; sister: Terri R. Whitley; four nieces and nephews; father-in-law Robert Childers; and brother-in-law: Bobby Childers
A funeral service will be Friday, March 18, 2016, 3:00 P.M. at Curtis Baptist Church with Dr. Rodger Murchison and Dr. Mark Sterling officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park with Full Military Honors will follow. Honorary pallbearers will be the Koinonia Klass.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Augusta Warrior Project, 4115 Columbia Road, Martinez, GA 30907.
