CHICOPEE – Ann Marie Keefe, 73, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, March 11, 2016. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on September 19, 1942, the beloved daughter of the late Clarence J. Keefe, MD and Phyllis R. (Keefe) Keefe. She was raised in Springfield and was a 1960 graduate of Cathedral High School in Springfield. She continued her education and received an Associate’s Degree from Holyoke Community College. She was employed as a clerk for 40 years at the Western Massachusetts Electric Company in West Springfield and later in Springfield, retiring in 2002. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. Ann was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and loved animals. Above all, she was a wonderful woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Besides her beloved parents, she was predeceased by her dear brother, Philip Keefe. Ann leaves her loving fiancé, Kevin T. Sullivan of Chicopee with whom she lived; her dear brother, Joseph D. Keefe and his wife, Nancy, of Clifton, VA; her two cherished nephews, Gregory Keefe and his wife, Christine, and Timothy Keefe and his wife, Julie; her cherished niece, Jennifer Hankins and her husband, Benjamin; her cherished grand nieces and grand nephew, Alese and Emily Keefe, Addison Keefe and Madeline, Jack and Abigail Hankins; and her many cousins, friends and extended members of the Keefe family. She will also be missed by her beloved feline friends, her “son” Yoshi, her “adopted cat” Sy and their “joint daughter” Shadow. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday morning, March 29, 2016 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (the funeral home will open at 9:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
