Matthew died unexpectedly Thursday evening at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Born in Barbados, he was the son of Myrna Evelyn and Mitchinson Beckles. He moved from Barbados to Canada at the age of two and then to Boston where he was educated. He had been a resident of Brockton for the past two years, and was employed by the Brockton Hospital as a Security Guard. Matthew enjoyed playing basketball, rap music and going to the movies. He is survived by his parents, Myrna Evelyn of Brockton and Mitchinson Beckles of Barbados, also several aunts, uncles and cousins.
