Obituary

David Ross Brooks, 67, of Mowry Street, Harrisville, died Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Miriam Hospital in Providence. He was the husband of Deborah Cote. They had been married for 30 years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late David Wellington Brooks and the late Betsy (Ross) Brooks. He had lived in Harrisville for 30 years and had previously lived in Pawtucket. He served in the US Air Force during Vietnam.
He received a BS from Bryant University and an M.Ed from the University of Rhode Island. He was an Executive Recruiter in the Providence market before retiring in June, 2015. Previous to his work in the business industry he was the Director of Student Employment at Bryant University. During his ten years at Bryant University he served as Alumni Director and President of the National Association of Student Employment Administrators. He was a former member of the University Club, an avid Patriot and Red Sox fan. He was a talented drummer and had played professionally in his earlier years. The Episcopal Conference Center had been a part of his life since camping there as a young boy. He continued his association with the Conference Center his whole life.
Besides his wife he is survived by his sons: Nicholas David Brooks and Benjamin Ross Brooks, both of Harrisville and a brother, Jeffrey Brooks and his wife, Robin of Coventry and niece and nephew, Adam and Sarah.
Visitation Friday 4-7pm in Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 11am at the Episcopal Conference Center, Pascoag.
