Helen (Haynes) DiBenedetto age 92 of South Lawrence, MA, died Friday at the Wingate at Andover Nursing Home.
She was born in Lawrence, MA, grew up in the Arlington District and moved to South Lawrence in 1952, where she lived with her beloved husband.
Helen was a full time housewife and mother. She had previously worked for the Registry of Motor Vehicles and the Merrimack Paper Mill in the business office.
She was a member of St. Patrick Church in So. Lawrence. She enjoyed painting, sewing, and various crafts. Most of all Helen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and family.
Helen was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ellen (Carr) Haynes. She was predeceased by her son Vincent DiBenedetto, Brother George Haynes, and Sister Dorothea (Haynes) Drew.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years: James H. DiBenedetto of So. Lawrence, MA. Sons: Glenn J. DiBenedetto and his wife Amy Pingree of Atkinson, NH, Alan T. and his wife Dorothy DiBenedetto of No. Andover, MA, Grandson: Glenn E. DiBenedetto, Granddaughters: Erin Currier, Andrea Korzon, Lauren Hufnagle, Great Grandsons: Michael Currier, Wesley Korzon, Great Granddaughters: Kaileigh Currier, Emma Currier, and Kate Korzon. Sisters in Law: Nancy DiBenedetto, Ann (DiBenedetto) Scalera, and Mary (Buckley) Haynes. Several Nieces and Nephews including Marie Doiron and Jeanne Franz.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Helen’s life by gathering for calling hours on Wednesday, March 16th from 3-7 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St, Methuen, MA. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 17th at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in West Parish Garden Cemetery, Andover, MA.
