Shirley Jean (Mettert) Culler

Shirley Jean (Mettert) Culler 82, of Anderson, died Saturday, March 12, 2016 at her home after an extended battle with A.L.S.
She was born on August 1, 1933, in Hicksville, OH the daughter of Guy and Olive (Gordon) Mettert. She married Max B. Culler on August 27, 1955 in Hicksville and moved to the Anderson area in 1963.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and neighbor. She was a 51 year member of First United Methodist Church and a member of the Church Circle. She was active with the Dental Auxiliary and several bridge clubs.
She is survived by her husband, Max, 3 children; Kem (wife Karin) Culler of Fremont, Janilyn (husband Gary) Elsten of Frankton, and Cyndi (husband Jeff) Carpenter of Portage, MI. a sister, Joanne Waltenberger of Angola, 2 brothers; Guy Mettert Jr and wife Brenda of Kentucky and Dennis Mettert and wife Beverly of Ohio, 2 brothers and sisters in law, Don and Jeanne Culler of California, and Dr Fred and Freda Culler of Ohio, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; and many Giraffes that " she always liked."
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother in law, Max Waltenberger, nephew, Jimmie Waltenberger, and 2 nieces, Robin Mettert and Mary Jane Culler
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 4 P.M. at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service officiated by Rev. Bill Mathys and Rev. Gary Elsten
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 P.M. until the time of the service on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be given to the First United Methodist Church, Anderson or FMC Community Dinners
