Milton - Robert F. “Red” Carroll age 87 passed away March 12th at Season’s Hospice in Milton surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Dorchester, he graduated from Dorchester High School and worked for New England Telephone as a Manager for many years before retiring in 1993. He was the Past President of the Milton High Boosters Club, an active member and coach of Milton Little League, member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Milton Men’s Bowling League. Beloved husband of the late Mary E. (McCormick). Father of Maryann Flaherty and her husband William of Quincy, Elizabeth M. Carroll of FL, Robert C. Carroll and his wife Ann of Milton and Paul B. Carroll and his wife Tricia of Milton and the late John Carroll. Brother of Charles Carroll of Plymouth and the late Edward and Donald Carroll. Grandfather of Kathleen Flaherty of Dorchester, Molly Flaherty of Quincy, SGT Matthew Flaherty US Army of Germany, Daniel, Christine, Maggie, Christopher and Hannah Carroll of Milton. Bob was lucky to have spent the last 15 years of his life with his second wife the late Kay Shortt. Funeral mass at St. Agatha Church Milton Wednesday morning at 10:30. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Tuesday 4-8 pm. Burial Milton Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Chaplains Alliance P.O. Box 15353 Alexandria, VA 22315.
