Obituary

Mary Virginia (LoStrappo) DiBlasio, 89, of Brockton and East Bridgewater, passed away Wednesday, March 9,2016. Beloved wife of the late Louis M. DiBlasio, Sr. Loving and devoted mother of 10 children.
Survivors include 4 daughters, Debra Caggiano of East Bridgewater, Lucille A and Regina D DiBlasio, both of Brockton, and Theresa M and her husband David Tringalli of Hyannis and FL; 4 sons, Richard J, Nicholas J, and Joseph R DiBlasio, all of Brockton, and Michael L DiBlasio of Taunton. (Mother of the late Donna Marie DiBlasio and Louis M. DiBlasio, Jr). Sister of Eleanor Calcagni of FL, Angelina Benedict of Hingham, and Daniel Salvucci of Rockland, (and the late Theresa Bright of CA and Philomena Graziano of Braintree); 17 grand and 25 great grandchildren, including twin great-granddaughters born 1/29/16 and a great-grandson born 2/21/16, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was born May 1, 1926 in Quincy, MA. Daughter of the late Domenic and Lucia (Petrocco)LoStrappo, both Italian immigrants. During WWII, she worked as a welder at the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy, MA, to help with the war effort. Upon marrying Louis, she devoted her time and talent to her family. Mary enjoyed all genres of music, especially Country-Western.

Visitation at the Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court St., Brockton, MA, on Wednesday, March 16th from 5-9 p.m. Funeral Service from the funeral home on Thursday, March 17th at 8 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 54 Lyman St., Brockton, MA. Burial immediately following in the family lot in Blue Hills Cemetery, 700 West St., Braintree, MA.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the DiBlasio & Caggiano Scholarship Fund.
