Charles H. Diggle, 58, of Weaver Street, Cranston, died Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Kent County Hospital in Warwick. He was the husband of Cynthia J. (Poole) Diggle; they had been married for 25 years.
Born in Warwick, Charles was the son of Elizabeth (Houghton) Diggle of Greenville and the late Howard Diggle. Charles grew up in Scituate and was a graduate of Scituate Junior/Senior High School. Charles spent the last 20 years living in Cranston.
Besides his wife and mother he is survived by his children: Michael Diggle and his wife, Andrea, of North Attleboro; Scott Diggle and his wife, Kaitlin, of West Greenwich, his step-children: Tony Marandola and his wife, Jennifer, of New Hampshire, Tammy Tidd of North Scituate, Trish Keating and her husband, Simon Keating, of North Providence. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Sofia, Lucas, Celeste, Thomas, Nicholas, Olivia, Sam and Tyler, as well as his siblings: Gary Diggle of Scituate, Geoffrey Diggle of Sturbridge, MA, Jimmy Diggle of Scituate, John Diggle of Greenville, Kenny Diggle, Howard Diggle, Jr. and Tracy Traficante, all of Coventry.
Charlie will be remembered for his fun-loving demeanor and laughter inducing pranks. If you’ve ever received “grinch droppings” in the mail you experienced first hand the smiles he loved to spread. Always travelling with his trusty scratch tickets and his baseball cap, he leaves a legacy of living life to it’s happiest no matter the circumstances.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 11am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville followed by a graveside service at Noon at Acote’s Hill Cemetery, Chepachet.
