Michael Higgins, 56, of Quincy, formerly of Whitman, died in a fatal car accident in New Hampshire on Thursday March 10th. He was the son of Jean E (Babine) Kelly and the late Charles Higgins.
Mike worked as a printer in the printing press industry and most recently worked as a house painter. Reading was his passion and he was very knowledgeable in all subjects. He also loved to golf and was an avid Patriots fan. He was a member of the Quincy Monday Night Group.
In addition to his mother Jean, he will be sadly missed by his surviving siblings, Jean Connell and her husband Jerry of Hanson, Eileen Timoney and Patricia Lundrigan of Whitman, Maureen Jarrett and her husband Michael of Brockton, Charles Higgins and his wife Mary of Whitman, Colleen Evers and her husband John of Middleboro. He was the cool uncle of Patrick, Jerry, Adam, Aine, Seamus, Roisin, Amy, Danielle, Michael, Charlie, Charlie Jr., Sean, Ryan, Kelli and Marita; also many grandnieces and nephew and friends.
His funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 15th at 10:15 from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Visitation will be on Monday March 14th from 4:00-8:00.
