Amherst/West Boylston~ Madeleine B. (Manseau) Arsenault, 89, passed away peacefully at home.
Her husband of 58 years, Ivon J. Arsenault died in 2008. Madeleine leaves her sons Normand Arsenault of Holden and James Arsenault and his wife Margaret of Amherst, her daughter Maureen Weihs and her husband Bill of Wenham, her daughter-in-law Ellie Arsenault of Webster/Charlton, her nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her son John Arsenault of Webster/Charlton. She also leaves her sister Rita Stowell of Gardner and brothers Paul Manseau and his wife Mary Jo of St. Paul, MN and Donald Manseau and his wife Janet of Cherry Valley. She is predeceased by her siblings Blanche, Leo, Roger, Edward, George, Robert, Normand, Lorraine and Doris. Madeleine was born in Gardner, MA the daughter of the late John and Florida (Allaire) Manseau.
Madeleine had quite a talent for creativity – sewing anything and everything with or without patterns, decorating cakes, and crafts upon crafts. She loved to bake and her cupboards were always filled with layered cakes, brownies and whoopie pies.
Her children and many friends thought of her as grand dame of St. Christopher’s Bingo, where she volunteered and played Bingo for over 35 years. Even in her later years, she enjoyed going to Foxwoods to play Bingo.
Madeleine was a loving and giving wife, mother, mother-in-law, memere, grand memere, aunt, sister, and friend. She loved spending time with her family, near and far. She lived a full and happy life and is now resting peacefully.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, March 15 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston Street, West Boylston, MA.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 16, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel, 111 Worcester Street, West Boylston, MA.
