Worcester – Rene P. Ethier, 76, of Worcester, died on Tuesday, March 8th in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence after a battle with ALS.
Mr. Ethier is survived by his wife Paula M. (Belfiore) Ethier; his 4 stepchildren, Mary Ann Belfiore of Panama City, FL, Judith Mahoney of Worcester, Dean Belfiore of Panama City, FL and Arian Damiano of Millis, MA; 3 daughters, Louise Ethier, Kathy Ethier and Ann Ethier all of Florida; a brother Richard Ethier of Texas; a sister, Mary Jane Ethier of Connecticut; 7 grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Rene was born in Sterling, CT son of the late Hubert J. and Mary Jane (Beaudoin) Ethier and is also predeceased by a brother, Michael Ethier.
Mr. Ethier worked for over 30 years at various companies as a truck driver. He was an avid parishioner of Our Lady of the Lourdes Church and loved listening to old time radio shows. Rene enjoyed taking trips to both Old Orchard Beach and Foxwoods. Being a lifelong Yankees fan, Rene received great enjoyment when the Yankees would beat the Red Sox in one of sports greatest rivalries.
A private funeral mass was held in Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Memorial contributions in memory of Rene may be made to the ALS Association Gift Processing Center PO Box 6061 Albert Lea, MN 56007.
