David L. Bettencourt, of Stoneham, formerly of Medford, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at his home. He was 45.
Born in Somerville, he was raised in Medford. He was the son of the late Lawrence and Carol (Ferranti) Bettencourt.
David graduated from Medford High School with the class of 1988. He was a Senior Shipping Lead, and enjoyed working. An avid sports fan, David was always the “go to man” with any questions related to sports. David was a simple and easygoing man with a wonderful sense of humor. He was caring, loving and giving to everyone. David enjoyed spending time with his family and his close friends. He and his friends had lunch every Saturday and they often traveled together.
David was the loving brother of Debra Bernardinelli and her husband William of Wakefield. He was the dear uncle of William Bernardinelli III, Krystina and Nico Bernardinelli, all of Wakefield. David is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Tuesday at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4 through 8 PM. At the request of the family, interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in David’s name may be sent to the charitable organization of One’s choice.
