FALL River – Robert J. “Rob” Alves, age 41 of Fall River, passed away on March 9, 2016 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Ronald R. and Anita (Silva) Alves. Rob worked for J.L. Marshall Construction Co., was a member of the Construction and General Laborer’s Union Local 22, an avid motorcycle enthusiast, playing billiards, and he also competed in a high-stakes billiards competition in Las Vegas.
He is survived by his children: Alyssa Alves, late Robert J. Alves Jr., Devinie Alves, & Hayden Alves; his grandson: Tristen Paul Santos (whom he referred to Rob as “Big Poppa”) siblings: Rhonda Alves, Ronald R. Alves Jr., Robin Alves, Jesse Gomes, & Ronnie Levesque all of Fall River; many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, cousins, and friends.
His wake will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 4-8 P.M. in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River, with a service at 7:00 P.M. Cremation to follow.
