Obituary

CHICOPEE – Rita A. (Gadoua) Henault, 82, a longtime resident of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, March 9, 2016. She passed into Eternal Life surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Malone, New York on June 3, 1933, a beloved daughter of the late Emile and Florence (Monette) Gadoua. She was raised in Malone, New York, attended local schools and moved to Chicopee around 1957. Rita enjoyed the simple things in life but most of all, she was a wonderful mother to her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. Active in her Catholic faith, she was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles M. Henault who was Called Home on November 1, 1997. She leaves her loving children, Wayne King of Chicopee, Donna Heck and her husband, David, of Holland, MA, Sheree Duda of Chicopee, Donald King and his wife, Ollie, of Southwick and Rosemarie Cooney of Chicopee; her nine cherished grandchildren; her many cherished great-grandchildren; her dear brothers, Donald Gadoua of Indian Orchard and Francis Gadoua of Chicopee; her dear sister, Terry Barnes of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Henault and Gadoua families. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her dear brother, Leo Gadoua; and her dear sisters, Mary Windolowski and Joan Darren. Her funeral will be held on Monday morning, March 14, 2016 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon, March 13, 2016 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
