Lillie Cordelia Reed, 72, of Fitzgerald, died Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held at 2PM, Friday, March 11, 2016, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Reed was born April 6, 1943, in Ozark Alabama, to Eller Lucrell Rogers Martin, who survives, of Fitzgerald and the late Joseph Martin. She had lived in the community for many years, coming from Bartow, Florida. She enjoyed sewing and cross-stitching. Two of her passions was cooking and fishing.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 38 years, James Robert Reed of Fitzgerald; children and their spouses: Sylvia Carmichael of Bartow, Florida, Jeffery and Retha Griner of Bartow, Florida, Christine and Jeff Sharpton of Locust Grove, and Mary and Charles Veal of Fitzgerald: eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; brothers, Glendale Martin and wife Mary Ann, Frank Martin and wife Beverly and Billy Joe Martin all of Fitzgerald, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Martin; a son, Daniel Kelly Griner and a sister, Shirley M. Harrell.
