William L. Wishum, 79, of Enigma passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Wishum at 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. Rev. Terrell Roberts will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 10, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born January 22, 1937 in Tifton, Mr. Wishum was the son of the late Ed Lee Wishum and Dorothy Cosper Wishum. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Dean Wishum; a brother, Gene Wishum; and a grandson, Ezra Baxter. He was retired from the University of Georgia Experiment Station and was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Wishum is survived by his wife, Lugene McBrayer Wishum of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Angelia and Michael Douglas Archer of Enigma; two brothers, Jerry Wishum and Lynn Wishum, both of Tifton; one sister, Darlene McBrayer of Tifton; three grandchildren, Jessica Luke, Richie Luke and Melissa Baxter; and many nieces and nephews.
