He supported his community as a member of the Blue Hills Civic Association for 20 years. He was an active parishioner of St. Gerard Majella Parish in Canton for over 33 years serving as Eucharistic Minister. He was a long-time contributing member of the Historical Society. He is remembered as a soft spoken man with a gift for hilariously bad jokes. He was a thoughtful, considerate, life-long learner, avid reader of books, and is fondly remembered reading the Sunday Globe on weekends, cup of coffee in hand. He had a breadth of knowledge on topics ranging from history, politics, sports, music and local events. He loved his Patriots and was a season ticket holder for many years. He was a loyal family man, who expressed his love for his family in his unwavering supportive presence in our lives, through good times and difficult moments. The most important thing that Mark has taught his family and friends through his life and his quick passage is to openly show and tell loved ones what they mean to you, because life can change in an instant.
