CLINTON, AR – Myla S. (Locke) Young, 77, died Monday, March 7, 2016 in Southbridge Rehabilitation & Health Care Center after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 6 years, Robert T. Young; 2 daughters, Tracy Heather Christensen and her husband Steven of Dudley, MA, with whom she lived since January, and Amber Faith Layne and her husband Hugh of Laurelville, OH; 2 grandsons, Michael and Jacob; 2 step-grandsons, Ben and
Austin; 2 brothers, Van and Ted Locke and a sister, Lynn Bristol, all of Crossville, TN; nieces and nephews. Her husband of 37 years, Carl I Pearson, died in 2008.
She was born in Lafayette, TN and raised in Crossville, the first of the 4 children of Leonard W. Locke and Evelyn (Serena) Locke. She resided in the area of Medway, OH from 1959 to 2010 when she moved to Clinton. She graduated from Cumberland County High School, majoring in home economics and piano. She also attended business school.
Mrs. Young was a self-employed piano teacher and a professional seamstress for over 30 years. An entrepreneur, she also owned and operated a craft shop.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
No funeral services are planned. There are no calling hours. Donations in her name may be made to Dana Farber/Brigham & Women’s Center, 20 Prospect St., Milford, MA 01757. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, MA.
