New Bedgford- John S. Arruda 91 died Saturday June 25, 2005 at St Lukes Hospital. He was the Husband of Helen S. (Faria) Arruda of New Bedford. He was the Father of John S. Arruda Jr. of New Bedford, Raymond Arruda of St. Augustine FL. Geraldine Carvalho of New Bedford and Judith Arruda of New Bedford. He was the brother of the late Mariana Tavares, Mary Coito, Frank, Joseph, Louis, Manuel, Arthur and Antone Arruda. He is also survived by 7 Grandchildren, Carolyn, Amanda, Anne, Bethany, Kenneth, Angelo Jr., and Kevin, He was the grandfather of the Melinda Arruda, He also has 10 Great-Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Arruda was formerly self-employed as a Carpenter.
Mr. Arruda was born in Fall River, MA. He has lived in the New Bedford area most of his life. He was the son of the late Leonor (daConceicao) and Manuel S. Arruda
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday June 28 , 2005 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 5-8 P.M., on Monday June 27, 2005 at Perry Funeral Home.
