Obituary

David Rego, age 66, of Fall River, passed away at home, surrounded by his wife Connie, daughter Patti, and beloved dogs Oscar, Lucky and Tig, on Sunday, March 6, 2016 after fighting a short illness. Born and raised in Fall River, he was the son of the late Antone Rego and Erundina (Dias) Gonsalves, step-son of the late William Gonsalves, brother of the late Patricia Ann Rego, and nephew of the late Hilda Dias. Prior to retirement he worked most recently at Stop & Shop and for many years, was employed by Quaker Fabrics and Anderson Little.

David was a devoted husband, an adoring father, and a loyal friend with a wicked sense of humor and an appreciation for all things Three Stooges, Clint Eastwood, and John Wayne. He was also a private person and in keeping with the way in which he lived his life, there will be no calling hours, funeral service, or interment. A Memorial Mass will be arranged in the near future and details will be posted on this webpage for those that would like to attend and pay their respects.

The family would like to thank everyone for their offers of condolence. Many times, people will ask what they can do in times of grief. If you feel so moved, the family invites you to make a donation in his name to one of David’s favorite charities: St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital (www.stjude.org) or any charity that benefits animals.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC.
