Antoine (Tony) Russell Kandalaft, 97, passed away peacefully in his home in the company of his loving family on Monday, March 7, 2016. A kind and gentle man, born February 15, 1919 in Zahle, Lebanon, moved to Brazil and traveled all over the world and spoke five languages before finally settling in Quincy. Beloved husband of Matilda (Affsa) known to many as Tillie, for 60 years. He is also survived by their devoted children, Roy A. Kandalaft of Quincy, Gary R. Kandalaft and his wife Amie of Weymouth and Karen R. Djerf and her husband Russell of Quincy. His beloved grandchildren: Alexandra, Nikki and Antoine (Tony) Kandalaft and Erika, Natalie, Dana and Brian Djerf. Survived by his dear brother Elias Kandalaft of Rhode Island. Brother-in-law to the late Mary Kandalaft. He was the cherished brother-in-law of the Affsa family and brother of the late Lyan & George Kandalaft, Linda Ghiz, Marie Kandalaft and Lily Abourjailey. A special thank you to all of his devoted Home Health Care workers. A former employee of Walter Baker Chocolate Factory, Dorchester, Boston Gear Works, Quincy, and Roxie’s of Quincy; Mr. Tony Kandalaft is the founder of the well known Tony’s Clam Shop on Wollaston Beach, celebrating it’s 52nd year, now run by his children. A Funeral Service will be held at St. John of Damascus Church, 300 West St., Dedham MA on Saturday March 12 at 10 am. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Friday, March 11, from 4-8 pm. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
