Shirley Brinkman Holliday
February 20, 1936 - March 7, 2016
Shirley Brinkman Holliday went to be with her Lord on March 7, 2016, after a brief battle with leukemia.
She was born February 20, 1936 in Anderson, to Robert and Mildred (Reed) Munden.
Shirley was very active in her church since accepting Jesus Christ as her Savior in 1966. She enjoyed spending time with the ladies in her Monday Night Bible Study class and with members of her Sunday School class. She served on the Pastor's Cabinet, as a Steward, and on the Women of Wesley Committee.
She was the owner of Shirley's Cut & Curl for thirty years. For the past three years, she has worked as a manicurist at Shear Image.
Shirley is survived by her children Debra (Gary) Morris, Sue (Joel) Van Camp, Patti (Don) Ortwein, Greg (Karen) Brinkman, Jessica (Delbert) Riddell, Robert (Dana) Brinkman, Mary (Billy Joe) Deaton, and Christi Meredith Holliday. She also leaves behind a special uncle and aunt, James and Wanda Brandon, a brother, Dennis Munden, and the following grandchildren, Katie Morris (Darren Fox), Corrine (Shawn) Lapp, Kelley (Daniel) Cox, Candace (Willie) Young, Trisha Van Camp, Angela (Terrance) Armour, Joel (Christina) Van Camp, Emily Van Camp, Samuel Van Camp, Andrew (Lyndsay) Ortwein, Mallory (Devin) Brown, Brad (Jessica) Brinkman, Jordan Brinkman, Joseph Riddell, Dan Riddell, Robert Riddell, Jason (Amanda) Brinkman, Amy Brinkman, Kim (Jim) Whitaker, James (Chelsea) Meredith, Michael Meredith, and Anne Meredith. Shirley also had 29 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and several cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Robert A. Brinkman (1962) and James H. Holliday (1995), daughter-in-law, Marie Brinkman, and uncle, Edward (Ted) Flowers.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 11 at Wesley Free Methodist Church, with Pastor Marc Adams officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Anderson Cemetery; 6500 East 10th Street in Indianapolis, IN.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 10 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
