Obituary

Angelina Rita (DePardo) Waitkewich of Methuen, 85, passed away peacefully at the Mary Immaculate nursing home in Lawrence on Monday, March 7, 2016.

Angelina was a caring and loving woman who showed genuine, never-ending kindness to every person in her life. She was truly special, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Angelina was born in Hartford, CT, and was raised and educated in Lawrence and Methuen. She was retired from Sears, where she had worked for many years as a successful saleswoman. After retirement, Angelina found great enjoyment in working at Presentation of Mary Academy for several years, where she cooked delicious meals every day for the Sisters. Angelina cherished the many lifelong friendships that began at her workplaces.

Angelina enjoyed trips to Foxwoods, going on cruises, and playing cards with family and friends. She was a supporter of St. Lucy’s Church in Methuen, and spent many years competing in the candlepin bowling leagues at Academy Lanes in Haverhill. Angelina was a remarkable gardener, and a truly wonderful cook. More than anything, she knew the importance of love and family.

Angelina was predeceased by her much-beloved husband of 55 years, Joseph Waitkewich, and their daughter, Debra. She was also predeceased by her sister, Lucille Duquette, and her brother, William DePardo.

Angelina is survived by her daughters, Susan Grew and her husband Allen, and Joanne Perrotta and her husband Jim, as well as her granddaughter, Lisa, of Methuen. She is also survived by her sister, Marianne Howlett and her husband Charles of North Adams, NY, and her brother-in-law, Gerald Duquette, Sr. of Dover, NH, as well as many treasured nieces and nephews.
