Balerna --- Eugene F. Sr. of West Roxbury, age 88, March 7, 2016. Beloved husband of Jean R. (Avalloni) Balerna. Loving father of Denise Petersen of Weston, Andrea Shields of Dedham, Eugene F. Balerna Jr. and his wife Karen of Bluffton, SC; formerly of Walpole. Cherished Papa of Carla and her husband Ky Le, Andrew, Margaux, Corey, Scott, Craig and Courtney. Devoted brother of John and Patricia Balerna of Long Boat Key, FL; Alfred Balerna of Dedham, Joseph and Connie Balerna of Cumberland, RI; Lillian and her late husband Carmine Russo of Norwood and the late Emma and Mario DeCristofaro of Walpole. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Gene was a Navy Veteran WWII, Member of the Hoisting and Portable Engineers, Local 4 and past member of the Parkway Bowling League.
Funeral from the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St., West Roxbury, Saturday, March 12, at 9:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Holy Name Church at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Interment Forest Hills Cemetery.
