Obituary

CHICOPEE – Alicia M. (Allsopp) Frigind, 93, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, March 7, 2016. She passed into Eternal Life surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Saint Helens, Lancashire, England on February 19, 1923, a beloved daughter of the late Thomas W. and Margaret (Marsh) Allsopp. She was raised in England and attended local schools. After her marriage to Israel “Ace” Frigind, she traveled the world with him as the wife of a United States Air Force career veteran. They eventually settled in Chicopee in 1963 while he was stationed at Westover Air Force Base. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Israel “Ace” Frigind who was Called Home on December 12, 2000; and her loving daughter, Nina M. Sindler who was Called Home in July of 2014. She leaves her son-in-law, Bernie Sindler; her nieces, Michelle S. Rowan and her husband, Dennis, and Debra A. Kascperwicz and her husband, Steve, and their children, Alex and Abby; her close friends, Jack and Audrey Jones, Wayne and Kim Keesee and their son, Jeremy, John and Audete Jones and their children, Jack and Michelle, Steve and Shannon Page and their children, Suzanne, Spencer and Sawyer, Bill Holt and Joe and Becky Venne. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Service of Committal on Friday afternoon, March 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in her memory to the Thomas J. O’Connor Foundation, 627 Cottage Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
