Jean D. (Dowling) Ward, 80, of North Grafton died Friday, March 4th in St. Vincent Hospital. She leaves her son, Bryant K. Ward of Worcester, Danielle L. Ward of Northbridge; three grandchildren including Zachary S. Ward whom was her caregiver for many years, many nieces, nephews and cousins including Dawn and Charlene who were her caregiver for many years. She was predeceased by a sister, Alice C. Swan.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Reginald C. and Alice C. (Dillas) Dowling. Jean worked as a home health aide for many years at various locations including Worcester State Hospital and was a member of All Saint’s Church. She participated in the senior activities at Summit Elder Care. Ms. Ward enjoyed spending her time watching television especially British dramas, crimes shows and the Big Bang Theory. Jean loved vanilla ice cream and plain donuts always referring to herself as a “plain Jane”.
Calling hours are Thursday, March 10th from Noon until 1:00 PM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service to follow at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in All Faith’s Cemetery, 9 Island Road, Worcester.
