SPRINGFIELD – Florence J. (Stevens) David, 95, a longtime resident of East Springfield was Called Safely Home on Friday, March 4, 2016. She passed into Eternal Life surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Springfield on May 28, 1920, a beloved daughter of the late Simon and Mary (Kado) Stevens. She was raised in Springfield, graduated in 1938 from Cathedral High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was a communicant of Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church in Springfield. Besides her parents and her eleven siblings, she was also predeceased by her beloved husband, George S. David, Sr. who was Called Home on September 1, 1984 and her loving daughter, Mary Ann (David) Powers who was Called Home on December 28, 2001. She leaves her loving children, George S. David, Jr., his wife, Michele, Gregory M. David, his wife, Linda and Norma J. Makol, her husband, Mark; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
