Mr. Andrew Wesley Fraser, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved husband of Elizabeth Ann (Wagner) Fraser, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday evening, March 3, 2016. He was 85 years old.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts, on November 17, 1930, he was the beloved son of the late Arthur and Mary (Campbell) Fraser. He was a 1949 graduate of Medford High School. Mr. Fraser enlisted in the Army at Boston on April 24, 1952. He attained the rank of Private E-1 and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 2 bronze stars, United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal, for his exemplary service. In civilian life, Andrew worked for The General Electric Service Shop Power Division. He traveled around the world for General Electric for Power Plant Turbine Service. In his spare time, Mr. Fraser enjoyed gardening, playing golf with his friends and projects around his home. He also loved to travel. Above all, Andrew enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
Besides his beloved wife, Elizabeth, he is survived by his loving children; Sally and her husband Kenneth Quigley of Stoneham, Karen Fraser and her partner Joe Gemellaro of Andover and James and his wife Debra Fraser of Wilmington, cherished grandchildren; Kevin and David Quigley, both of Stoneham, brother William and his wife Dorothy Fraser of Weirsdale, Florida and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Arthur, Stanley, Austin and Ira Fraser and Margaret Gardner.
His funeral service will be held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at 7 PM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visitation will be held, in the funeral home, prior to the service from 5 to 7 PM. Interment will be privately held.
