PARSONS, Steven Glen, 61, of Taylorsville and Louisville, originally Muhlenberg County, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016.
Steve was an overhead sprinkler inspector for Simplex Grinnell; working in fire safety for 36 years in between welding custom made items and trailers; attended Fairdale High School and wood shop at vocational, he re-discovered an amazing talent for woodworking in 1995. From felling the trees on his property, he made furniture for family and friends; built a log cabin full of antique cooking and living ware for young folks. Mechanically inclined, he restored antique cars, tractors, etc., making tools he needed.
He was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Jeff Parsons.
Steve is survived by the love of his life and wife of over 40 years, Bonnie (Johnson) Parsons; children, Daniel Parsons and Stephanie Parsons-Braun (Brent); grandchildren, Lukas, Elliott, and Molly Braun, Sara and Kara Parsons; mother, Shirley Ann Diaz; father, Bobby Parsons; brother, Gary Parsons; sisters, Becky Brennan, Tammy Parsons, and Karyn Edrington. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, a close extended family and many friends and neighbors who loved him well.
Visitation will be 2-8pm Tuesday and 10am-1pm Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home – Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Road. His service will be 1pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
