Gertrude R. Desjardin, 93, formerly of Blackstone St. Woonsocket died Thursday at St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of the late Lucien R. Desjardin who passed away in 1987.
Born and raised in Woonsocket she was daughter of the late François and Delia (Dube) L'Etoile. She remained a lifelong resident of the city.
Mrs. Desjardin was employed by the Woonsocket School Department for many years before retiring in 1988.
She was the sister of the late Adrien and Normand L’Etoile and Doris M. Flood. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:00 am in St. Antoine Chapel, Rhodes Ave. North Smithfield. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Arrangements are by the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
