Harriet C. Archer-Seamon, 76

Dateline: Norton, MA

Harriett C. (Doherty) Archer-Seamon, age 76, a lifelong resident of Norton passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, March 3, 2016.
She was the beloved wife of Lewis L. Seamon to whom she was wed for the past 16 years and the late Crawford E. Archer.
Born in Norton, MA on August 24, 1939, she was a loving daughter of the late Harry and Lena (McHugh) Doherty. She grew up in Norton and was a graduate of Norton High School.
After starting her family, Harriet returned to school and in 1968 she earned her Certification in Nursing at Taunton Vocational High School.
Prior to retiring, Harriet had worked for many-many years as an LPN at the former Country Haven Nursing Home in Norton and later when it became Epoch Senior Healthcare. When younger, she had also been employed at the Daggett-Crandall-Newcomb Home in Norton and at Morton Hospital in Taunton.
A lifelong active member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Norton, Harriet’s church memberships included being a church Deacon, involvement in the Prayer Shawl Ministry, a Sunday School Teacher, the Radcliffe Guild, the What-So-Ever Club and the former church “Lunch Bunch”
She was a former Girl Scout Leader and earned the distinction of becoming a First Class Girl Scout. She loved being in the company of family and friends alike, and especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and as an advocate for the elderly.
For fun, Harriet enjoyed puttering around the house, gardening and knitting, and the many wonderful trips that she and Lou shared together.
She is survived by her devoted children Clifford E. Archer and his wife Danielle of Norton and Ann Marie Gravel and her husband Romeo, III of Berkley. She was the dear sister of Rosemarie Hoyle of Norton. She was the cherished and adoring grandmother of Romeo Gravel, IV, Emily Archer, Holly Gravel and Josh Archer. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews, including Mark Hoyle, Melissa Rogers and Harry Armstrong.
Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday, March 7th at 11:00 A.M. in the Trinitarian Congregational Church, East Main and Pine Streets, Norton. Burial will follow at the Timothy Plain Cemetery in Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 6th from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.
In lieu of flowers, Harriet’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Harriet C. Archer-Seamon Nursing Scholarship Fund, care of, North Easton Savings Bank, 25 West Main St., Norton, MA 02766.
