Barbara (Muzzey) Kublbeck, 93, a lifelong resident of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 2nd at the Umass Medical Center.
Barbara was born March 25th, 1922 in Worcester, MA. She was the daughter of the late Archibald and Helen (Sullivan) Muzzey. Barbara leaves behind two daughters and three sons; Carol A. Kublbeck of Worcester, Charlotte M. Moran of Ashburnham, Kurt F. Kublbeck and his wife Lorelle of Ashburnham, Richard A. Kublbeck and his wife Martine of Plainfield, CT, and David P. Kublbeck of Salem NH. She was predeceased by a son, James R. Kublbeck, who passed away in January of 2015.
Barbara grew up in Greendale with her two brothers, Paul and William Muzzey and her sister Shirley Rabidou, all of whom predeceased her. After graduating high school, Barbara became a talented cake decorator and for many years owned The Pastry Box on Pleasant Street in Worcester. This talent brought her into the field of teaching through the Worcester Night Life Program. She also offered summer cake decorating classes in her home. Her children have many fond memories watching her put on the finishing touches of her specialty, beautiful Wedding Cakes. Barbara was an artistic person, who enjoyed painting, decorating with crafts, hooking rugs, stenciling, glass etching and reading a good novel. Her home, as well as her children's homes are touched with her many works of art. Her greatest joy came from family gatherings, as she watched with pride and love, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and thrive.
The family would like to thank and acknowledge Barbara's caring, supportive HomeCare Team; Bernice, Chris, Donna, Lynn, Laurie and Gaynal.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, March 6th from 2:00 until 5:00 PM in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara's memory may be made to ones favorite charity.
