Obituary

Mary D. (Renzella) DiGiacomo passed away on March 1, 2016, at her home peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the age of 101.

Mary was born in East Boston and was a lifelong resident of Malden. Her early years were spent working at the Golden Bell before starting a family. She was a member of Saint Joseph’s Parish and a 60 year member of the Catholic Daughters. Mary enjoyed playing bingo with her close group of friends. Mary was the oldest of eight siblings, and her pride and joy was opening her home to them and their families, and most importantly spending precious time with her immediate family and friends.

Mary was the beloved wife of 69 years to the late Armando DiGiacomo. She was the daughter of the late Bartolomeo and Elizabeth Renzella. Mary was the loving mother of Marjorie Davey of Malden, James DiGiacomo of Littleton, and Nancy DiGiacomo of Malden. She was the dear sister of Yolanda DiBattista and her late husband Ernest, Albert Renzella and his late wife Jenny, and the late Joseph Renzella and his surviving wife Lillian, the late Margaret DiGiacomantonio and her husband Charles, the late Catherine Drinkwater and her husband Fred, the late Peter Renzella and his wife Carmella, and the late Frank Renzella and his wife Lee. Mary was the cherished grandmother of Scott Davey, Deneen Cymbura, Marc Davey and his wife Elena, Tina Delorne and her husband Alan, and Tracy Jackson. She was the great grandmother of Eric and Bryan Cymbura and Brett Jackson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Monday March 7, 2016 at 9:30a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church 770 Salem Street, Malden at 10:30a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday March 6th from 3-7p.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
