BEVERLY: Joan (Donlon) Sholomith, 85, died peacefully on Sunday, February 28, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Max Sholomith who died in 2008.
Born in Peabody on January 17, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Lillian (McNeil) Donlon. She was a lifelong resident of Beverly and a graduate of St. Mary’s Star of the Sea High School.
Joan was a lifetime parishioner of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church. She was a strong willed Irish woman who loved her family unconditionally in good times and bad. She will be truly missed by her loving family and many dear friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynne Cunningham; three sons, Joseph Sholomith, James Sholomith and his fiancé, Nancy Higgins and Martin Sholomith and his wife, Susan; eight grandchildren, Joseph, Sara-Jean, John Patrick, Jessica-Lynne, Joshua, Jake, Owen and Drew; four great-grandchildren, Rozlyn, Farrah, Celeste and Chase; two sisters, Peggy Esterbrook and Pat Donlon; two brothers, Richard Donlon and his wife, Gail and William Donlon and his wife, Skippy and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her two sisters, Mary Curran and Jean Goyette and two brothers, James and John Donlon.
