Leonia May Conrad-Lake (Wenz), age 78, of Weymouth passed away peacefully at South Shore Hospital the morning of March 1, 2016. Leonia was born in New York Hospital to Otto and May Wenz on February 7, 1938. After high school, she took secretarial courses before marrying Donald G Conrad, also from New York. They moved to Mason Street in Forest Park, Weymouth in 1959 where she continued to live for her entire life. She was an avid crafter, loved going to bingo, and enjoyed her family gatherings most of all.
In 1988, she remarried to Alfred P. Lake who predeceased her in 2009. She and Al have visited Aruba more than thirty times during their marriage. The island brought them both great joy.
Lea is survived by her sons; Donald G. Conrad and his wife Mary, and Douglas G. Conrad; and stepsons; Peter Lake and his wife Gail, and Paul Lake and his wife Cheryl. Lea is also survived by nine grandchildren: Heidi, Ashley, and Brianna Conrad; Nicole Mäkelä; Darci, Whitney, Anna, Christopher, and Meghan Lake.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours for Lea the morning of Friday, March 4, 2016 from 9-11 am in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant Street (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth, MA. There will be a funeral service in the funeral home at 11 am immediately following the visitation.
