Charles N. Blevins

Charles N. Blevins, 96, of Anderson, died February 29, 2016 at Prairie Lakes Health Campus in Noblesville after a sudden illness.

He was born December 2, 1919 in Patoka, IN to Thomas and Bertha (Black) Blevins;

He was a meat inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture.

He served in the US Army during WW II.

He was a member of Daleville United Methodist Church, Murat Shriners. Alexandria American Legion and was a Free Mason and past Worshipful Master. He was an avid golfer and self taught musician.


He is survived by his son, John (Denise) Blevins of Anderson; daughter, Marsha (Bob) Hudson of Lapel and stepson, Harry (Mary) Reed of Henderson, Ky; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Brent) Ladd, Jim Blevins and John Blevins, Jr. several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Virginia, brother, Bud Blevins, sisters, Berta Jean Young, Margie McDowell and Lucille Hollon.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.

Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery with military graveside rites will be provided by VFW and National Guard Honors.

Visitation will be held 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. before the service at the funeral home.
